About

An independent documentary archive of the Arabian Peninsula.

Archive Arabia is an independent documentary project on the history, archaeology and cultures of the Arabian Peninsula. Each film is built from published scholarship, archaeological evidence, inscriptions and primary sources, and every claim is traced to a source before it is narrated.

The films examine what the peninsula's past is assumed to be, and set that against what the record shows. The sources are published with each film.

Enquiries may be sent through the contact page.

Independence

Independent by condition.

The project is currently self-funded. It may accept funding from public bodies, institutions and museums, but no funder may influence the method, evidence or conclusions. A commission may set what a film examines; it cannot set what the film is permitted to find.

Artificial intelligence assists with drafting language and generating the score. It does not decide what the evidence shows or how certain a statement may be. Those judgments are made and checked by a person.
